At Publix, we’re doing more than carrying out conservation efforts; we’re pioneering sustainability practices and leading the way for
global improvement. For several years, Publix has been on the forefront of implementing change to packaging and transportation, and
we’re extending our best practices to various aspects of sustainability as it applies to seafood.
We’ve taken it upon ourselves to take a leadership role within the grocery and seafood industry to drive global seafood sustainability efforts forward. We’ve sought the counsel and support of suppliers from all over the world and through FMI to develop seafood sustainability guidelines and education for the entire grocery industry. And, through our partnerships with groups such as Ocean Trust and Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, we’ve developed our seafood sustainability program.
